In a recent ceremony held at Le Montage in Leichhardt NSW, the founder and director of Olde English Tiles Australia - Antonino Gaudioso, was awarded the NSW Tile Association '2011 Industry Achievement Award' for excellent service to the tile industry. The award acknowledged the unique and invaluable contibution made by Mr Gaudioso and his company in preserving and restoring the architectural heritage of this country.
Olde English Tiles Australia (originally The Olde English Tile Factory) was established in 1982 at a time when many of Australia's historic buildings were still being torn down or threatened with demolition. OETA has been in the vanguard of those fighting to preserve our cultural heritage through its involvement in the restoration of such important buildings as The Queen Victoria Building, St. Andrew's Cathedral in Sydney, St. Patrick's in Melbourne, Goulburn Cathedral, Admiralty and Kirribilli Houses in Sydney as well as numerous other historic civic and private buildings throughout Australia.
