Ceramica Bella (Italian for "beautiful ceramics")

For millenia ceramics have served a dual purpose in our lives, that of wall/floor cladding and practical household item (amphora, jug, platter, storage jar), and as an expressive medium for man's need to define him/herself and to comment on the world in which we live; in other words as art and craft.

This range explores that second tradition of ceramic manufacture (that is not utilitarian) - the 'art piece'. Whether a panel, a platter or a single tile, the products featured in the Ceramica Bella Collection are offered as works of art - hand painted, sometimes hand made, beautiful in themselves.

Several items in this first release are inspired by the work of ceramic artist Giovanni De Simone (a student of Pablo Picasso), and his daughter Rosita. In coming months other products will be added employing designs by artists both established and emerging. All products in this category are hand-painted by our award-winning in house artist.
